Bio

Matt Motsick had an idea when he was a Corporate Traffic Manager at a mid-size importer/exporter in Kansas City. Matt was responsible for the inbound and outbound transportation co-ordination of products. In obtaining shipping quotes, it would take 1-3 days to get rates back from shipping companies. After freight forwarding companies explain the manual process it takes to get a rate, a light bulb came on.

Now CEO and co-founder of Catapult International, he and his key management team built the software company to provide web-based rating applications for the international shipping in-dustry. With clients such as FedEx, Carnival Cruise Lines, and Landstar, Catapult has put Kansas City on the global map. Catapult is headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas with offices in San Francisco, Amsterdam, and Xia-men, China.

Matt Motsick received his Bachelors degree in Public Relations at Northwest Missouri State University. He currently resides on the Board of Directors of the International Trade Council of Kansas City. He is also part of an Advisory Board for Northwest Missouri State's Computer Science program. In 2009, Matt Motsick was a speaker at the Kansas Department of Commerce program on "Going Global". He also leads a team of students at the University of Kansas in a Global Re-search Initiative project that is held in conjunction with KU CIBER.
