Bio

As founder of Ace Personnel, The Astra Group, and the mastermind behind both the Young Entrepreneurs Organization and the Alliance of Community Educators, Shane Jones has a lot on his plate. And although quite busy, Shane has become an advocate of entrepreneurship in the Kansas City community through both his work life and his civic activities.

In 1989, Jones established Ace Personnel from the spare bedroom of his apartment. In its 10th year of business, Ace Personnel grew to reach $10 million in revenues and became a nationally recognized staffing service. Jones also helped Ace Personnel to become an Inc. 500 company twice.

Jones then founded The Astra Group, a company that works with other organizations to provide human resource services, strategic planning, and other outsourcing services. Since Jones's involvement in the company, The Astra Group has experienced remarkable growth and has been recognized by Inc. magazine twice as one of the fastest growing companies in the world.

But the most notable of Jones's work is that of which he has done for the Kansas City community. In 1999, Jones founded the Kansas City Chapter of Young Entrepreneurs Organization (YEO) for business owners and founders under the age of 40 who have achieved annual revenue exceeding $1 million. Jones served as President for the first two years where the chapter was awarded Best Emerging Chapter in North America and Fastest Growing Chapter in the World. In addition, Jones founded the Alliance of Community Educators, a not-for-profit organization aimed to educate students about career opportunities.

Jones has also served on the board of directors for various Kansas City organizations such as the Starlight Theatre, the Kansas Chamber of Commerce, the Enterprise Center of Johnson County, and many more. Jones graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors Degree in Personnel Administration.
