Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed participating in Think Big Kansas City today.

When we spoke at the event, you said you'd measure the success by the feedback you received. Hopefully, you've heard from lots of folks that it was great. I certainly thought so. I went to several break out sessions. All of them were well done and provided good info. I ran into quite a few folks I know, and also met some others. And, Chris Gardner was fantastic! For me, TBKC was exactly what I thought it should be. Thank you for putting the event together and including me. I really appreciate it. Please keep me posted on the progress of TBP. I’ve been meaning to email you since Wednesday to congratulate you on such a great conference. I wasn’t able to attend the entire event, but I loved every minute of it while I was there. Chris Gardner was unbelievably awesome. I was hanging onto every word he said. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more inspirational story, and as a single dad on 100% commission, I could definitely relate to what he went through (on a much less damatic level). I had a great time at the event on Wednesday. I met some fantastic people, soaked in some wonderful ideas and left inspired and motivated. It's so nice to be in the midst of such a large collection of people that think similarly to you and are striving to help each other help others. Thank you so much for putting this on. Just wanted to say thanks for hosting a fantastic event. It had an unexpected benefit for my daughter and if there is any way you can get a message to Chris Gardner, please tell him THANK YOU!! He changed my daughter's life. Staci (my foster daughter of over 20 years) has been trying to pass her high school GED test for close to 3 years now. Most of her family does not support education. Her dad is in prison and her mom has been on drugs most of her life but she is really trying to make her life turn out different. Her dad got out of prison when she was 16 and decided he was going to be a parent so he took her from me and she never went to school again. Now that she is an adult, she has desperately tried and failed over and over to get out of high school and make up for those years she lost. I think she's failed the test so many times that we've lost count and she was starting to feel like passing was pointless until she heard Chris. She attended the lunch with me, met Chris and she really took what he said to heart . After lunch, she took herself right down to the community college to take the portion of the GED that qualifies her for financial aid and she flippin passed!!! Unbelievable! She said that was one of the best days of her life. Meeting and hearing what Chris went through really meant the world to her and she wants to be the kind of person that keeps trying like he did. She still has one more test to take to completely be out of high school because she is in a program where she can not only get her GED but will actually receive her high school diploma in May once she completes it. She's not worried anymore! She's already working out a new college schedule for the fall semester. This is huge for both of us to be honest! Thanks so much for all the work and effort put into the event. You never know who's life will be affected and who's may be changed forever. THANK YOU!! Take care Anne Cull |
